As she waits for the arrival of her new baby, a mother-to-be gathers gifts to create a sacred bundle. A white feather, cedar and sage, a stone from the river . .
Each addition to the bundle will offer the new baby strength and connection to tradition, family, and community. As they grow together, mother and baby will each have gifts to offer each other. - From Amazon
Mother's love - waiting for baby - identity to culture
I loved the universal themes of motherhood that any mamma could related to - a love so so so strong - and contrasted against the specific elements of the authors cultural heritage. I LOVED the sparkly milky way weaving throughout and Michaela Goade's artist note on how she incorporated the author's Nation's symbols.
