Simple text is paired with emotional evocative illustrations. The story unfolds with little boy and puppy growing up together. I liked the the playful cutouts on each page peeking into the next and I loved following the journey of the baby blanket throughout the book as well. I DID NOT LIKE that the dog died. BAD BOOK.
