Frank and Lucky Get Schooled / Lynne Rae Perkins
Greenwillow
2016
Newbery Medalist and bestselling author Lynne Rae Perkins introduces a boy (Frank) and a dog (Lucky) in this celebratory, wry, and happily unconventional introduction to the subjects children encounter in school. This beautifully illustrated, humorous, and insightful picture book offers a new twist on the classic boy-and-his-dog story - From Amazon
Learning in everyday scenarios - fostering a curious mind for the world about you.
Perkins employs a comic book-like way of illustrating this story in sequential bubbles or frames. There's so much to see in each picture - to follow the path of Lucky the dog as he roams, to read his little dog thought bubbles and more. This book does so much all at once and doesn't really ever drop the ball! I would hand this one to homeschool families especially, as it mirrors a very un-schooling philosophy of just learning through living in the world.
