They All Saw A Cat / Brendan Wenzel
Chronicle Books
2016
In simple rhythmic prose and stylized pictures, a cat walks through the world and all the other creatures see and acknowledge the cat. - From Publisher
Animal studies - Points of view - how different people see the world
One of my most favorite picture books of all time. The pacing of words to page is drawn out just right, allowing the reader to sink into each illustration. I love how Wenzel choses to depict each other animal's view of the cat, from the fish's "fisheye" watery view, to the blood red scary mouse's view to the worm and bat "seeing" the cat through ground vibrations and echolocation. There are so many opportunities to explore the natural world through this simple book.
