Emberley's bold woodcut-like illustrations are full of color. The cumulative text (like The house that Jack built, or Twelve days of Christmas) is fun to repeat over and over. I have had a question about this book since childhood though.... did the rest of the soldiers get killed in the cannon blast? After the KAHBAHBLOOM page, you don't see them anymore. Its hard to imagine that they could have made it... Let me know what YOU think.
