Snow / Uri Shulevitz

  • Farrar, Strauss Giroux

  • 1998

  • No one thinks one or two snowflakes will amount to anything. Not the man with the hat or the lady with the umbrella. Not even the television or the radio forecasters. But one boy and his dog have faith that the snow will amount to something spectacular, and when flakes start to swirl down on the city, they are also the only ones who know how to truly enjoy it. - From Amazon

  • I loved the consistency of the characters - how you could see them in the background of the pages before they came on front and center. I loved Shulevitz made almost a stagelike setting - you can see all the players as the scene opens and the backdrop of the town remains static. The final perfection of the last scene of the bright blue sky with drifts of sparkling snow was blindingly on point!
